Does AmeriHealth Cover Detox?

Before starting treatment for drug or alcohol addiction, you have to first go through detox. During the detox process, your body rids itself of whatever substance, or substances, that it became dependent on. Detox can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks depending on the severity of the addiction.

Because of what detox treatment does to the body, it is imperative that it be done at either a designated detox treatment facility, a medical facility that handles detox, or a treatment facility that also provides detox services. Attempting to self-detox can be very dangerous and potentially even life-threatening.

At Discovery Institute, we provide all our clients with detox services before they begin their treatment and, thanks to your AmeriHealth insurance plan, you are covered. Depending on your plan, you might even be covered for detox treatment at no out of pocket expense to you. If you have any questions or are unsure if your AmeriHealth plan will cover your detox treatment, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. We will take a look at your policy and go over with you what it does, and does not, cover as well as work with both you and the insurance company to make sure that if there are any out of pocket expenses that you can afford to pay them.

Will My Insurance Cover Inpatient Treatment?

amerihealth-insuranceAfter detox treatment has successfully been completed, the next step is to enter one of the several different types of treatment programs for substance use disorder that we offer at Discovery Institute. One of the most commonly used treatment programs is inpatient treatment.

While most AmeriHealth plans cover inpatient treatment, not all of them might cover it in full. Some might even require certain criteria to be met. If you are unsure if your insurance plan covers inpatient treatment or have any questions about any requirements that must be met, you can reach out to either your insurance representative or even us here at Discovery Institute. We are happy to talk to you about any questions or concerns that you might have about treatment and your insurance.

What About Outpatient Treatment?

Not everyone can live in a treatment facility for weeks or even months while they undergo drug and alcohol treatment. There are some people that, for one reason or another, simply can not abandon their work, school, or even family commitments. For these people, outpatient or even intensive outpatient treatment might be their best option.

Outpatient treatment involves many of the same components as residential treatment, with the major difference being that you don’t live at the facility while undergoing treatment. Due to the fact that there is no need for housing with outpatient treatment, the cost is significantly less. Outpatient treatment is ideal for someone who has a strong support system at home and can return to their regular lives every day without succumbing to the temptations of drugs and alcohol.

Since outpatient treatment tends to be cheaper than inpatient, it is usually the more popular option as far as insurance companies go. If you are unsure which type of treatment is right for you, or have questions about what your AmeriHealth plan will cover, contact us today.

What Other Services Does AmeriHealth Cover?

At Discovery Institute, we offer non-traditional treatment options in addition to the more traditional inpatient and outpatient treatment such as holistic treatment. Some of those holistic treatment options that we offer to our patients include:

  • Adventure therapy
  • Nutritional therapy
  • Acupuncture
  • Yoga
  • Meditation
  • Reiki

With alternative treatment methods, such as holistic treatment, becoming more and more popular among both medical professionals and patients, more and more insurance providers are starting to include these types of treatment in their coverage. If you are unsure if your AmeriHealth insurance plan covers alternative treatment options you can reach out either to your insurance representative, or even get in contact with us. We will take a look at your policy and see what it covers so we can make sure that you get the help you need at a price you can afford.

Is AmeriHealth Considered In-Network?

At Discovery Institute, we have partnered with Amerihealth as an in-network facility. This is great for you because not only does that mean that your insurance plan can be used with us, it also means that the cost to you, if there is any, will be significantly less.
