Electra Willis is a Licensed Social Worker and a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Electra has been working in the field of social services/addictions since 2014, and she is currently one of our Extended Stay Counselors, working primarily with our Drug Court clients.
Electra is a New Jersey native. She grew up in Monmouth County, earning an Associates of Science degree from Brookdale Community College, a Bachelor of Science degree from New Jersey City University, and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Monmouth University. Before joining Discovery Institute, Electra gained experienced as a Residential Counselor at another New Jersey facility. Her energetic, good-humored, and open-minded demeanor brings a sense of trust and relief to her clients.
Having witnessed first-hand the impact of addiction on individuals and families in New Jersey, Electra exhibits a unique awareness and dedication to her work in treatment and counseling. She considers each client’s unique set of needs to be a top priority. Electra utilizes a “mixed bag” a modalities, including Motivational Interviewing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), and her favorite Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), to help advance clients through the Stages of Change associated with successful addiction treatment.
