Requirements:
Registered Nurse with valid license within the State of New Jersey.
Overall Duties:
- Maintains standards of practice. Follows and enforces established procedures, policies, rules, regulations, and laws governing standards of care.
- To provide initial consultation to clients.
- Screen all clients’ requests for medical consultation. (i.e., sick call)
- To document all services and physician’s orders in clients’ files as per licensure and Joint Commission standards.
- Complete all admission paperwork (nursing assessment, nutritional, dental, HIV, limits list, physician’s orders, checklist) and all other documents indicated by DON.
- Place all new admits on list to see the doctor & dietitian.
- RN performs procedures within the scope of educational preparation and demonstrates skill and judgment:
- Carries out nursing orders for care of each client.
- Carries out safety measures at all times in the care and observation of all clients.
- RN may administer medication and medical treatment procedures as prescribed for clients.
- Accurately administers medication according to procedures.
- Demonstrates knowledge of each prescribed medication by ability to recognize/relate therapeutic effects, untoward effects, minimum and maximum dosages and precautions.
- Monitors appropriate vital signs prior to administration when indicated.
- Monitors clients for adverse reactions.
- Assist physician
- Schedule and coordinate medical services as determined by the physician.
- Assist physician as directed for exams and procedures.
- Transfers orders and writes prescriptions on MAR.
- All prescriptions faxed to pharmacy.
- Place clients on limits list on all admission for 10 days & if indicated by the doctor for a medical reason.
- Place all lab reports from laboratory in folder to review & sign off on for the physician.
Note: This position is per diem.
Required Experience:
A minimum of two years experience as a Registered Nurse with at least one year’s experience. One year experience treating the chemically dependent population in a detox and residential setting preferred (ASAM levels III.3 to III.7).
License:
