Behavior Health Technicians (BHT) provide a variety of non-clinical services under the supervision of the BHT Supervisor and Operations Manager. The Institute employs BHT for client monitoring, house management and facility security. They are utilized 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on all 3 shifts. Full Time/Part Time available.

Provides on-going direct observation of physical plant including client residential and socialization areas, staff offices, medical records, commissary stairwells and control desk, ensuring that all secured areas have remained locked.

Conducts hourly silent census counts of residential population and documents same in staff log. Reports any deviations to on-call professional staff.

Completes all security, fire-safety, and maintenance checklists as required by the Physical Plant Manager.

Monitors evening and nighttime client schedules. Notes any deviations in the staff incident log.

Follows emergency policies related to disaster, fire-safety, illness/injury, and client behavioral policies when necessary. Reports any breaking events to designated on-call professional staff.

Follows Institute prescribed food service policies as to preparation of snacks during non-meal times.

Answers questions, adjudicates disputes, and ensures that House rules and policies are in effect at all times. Documents same in staff log.

Works with all program staff to ensure clients follow facility rules/regulations. Reports issues of non-compliance to BHT supervisor or staff on property.

Transports clients in agency vehicles for scheduled appointments, meetings of mutual support, recreation, corporate business or any authorized activities.
